NOOSA WATERS CABLE SYSTEM

Noosa Smartcable system provides ALL digital (both High Definition and Standard Definition digital signals) channels including the new ones.

You may notice that some of the providers e.g. channel 7 has a number of channels allocated but is only providing a different programme on channel 7 TWO with their standard programmes repeated on their other available channels. Occasionally channel 7 will provide a different movie on High definition to the standard definition channel. Channels 2 and SBS are currently the most advanced in utilising their allocated channels. The others will follow in time as they are ready.

All planned channels are already included in our system.

Besides providing all digital channels, the Noosa Smartcable currently provides the five local analogue channels. It is considered more beneficial to utilise a set top box with the analogue TVs as you then experience a clearer signal and the greater choice of programmes. Until the analogue stations are closed down we are currently also including Brisbane channels 7, 9 and 10 on our system although these are not reliable clean signals as we are outside the formal transmission areas.

SET TOP BOXES
You have the choice of either a standard definition digital set top box which is probably all that is required for analogue TVs as these TVs are not capable of providing High Definition presentation. These are fairly cheap and can be purchased for $35 to $50. You can choose to get a High Definition set top box which would be dearer but would not be an advantage. Noosa Smartcable system supports these set top boxes in exactly the same way as normal free to air. The only requirement is that they are able to scan the full frequency spectrum...which most do.
